I find that many people who contact me about help with their foreclosure situation have waited too long or moved too slowly towards finding a solution. They are understandably stressed and sometimes depressed, but I wish homeowners in trouble would understand the importance of addressing the situation and designing a plan early on. Even though you want to keep your situation private, talking to an experienced agent or level headed friend can sometimes help you determine what needs to be done and in what order.

Foreclosure is not an uncommon thing these days, so you are not alone. Some banks are also coming up with options for homeowner in foreclosure, but you have to call and discuss it with them. I recommened to create a plan with an experienced agent before calling the bank.  Ask you agent about the possibility of negociating a short sale or, my personal favorite, an extention that gives your agent enough time to market a successful real estate auction.
